I like the great questions you're asking. The answer to this one is a definite "it depends". It depends on how you handle the emotions. In CRV, we teach viewers to never ignore an emotional impression, but to also never let it become a part of you. You note it, write down that you felt it, If you have any information about why or what it is about, you write that down too, and in short, you treat it very observationally and dispassionately. You can even use the emotion as a cue for getting more details about the target. (Example: "I just got the feeling of fear" [write it down]. " I wonder what caused that." [cue for the cause and investigate], etc.). In short, you treat your emotional reactions to the site as though it is nothing more than your subconscious trying to tell you a new fact about the site, and then, instead of letting the emotion control you, you just sort of pick it up like an strange new thing you just found and inspect it to learn more about what your subconscious wants you to know. If you do that, it becomes a tool for better viewing. If you let it overcome you, it can totally ruin the session and even ruin your day after the session is over. So, it depends on what you do with the emotional reaction. A newbie will tend to let it overtake and pollute the session. An experienced viewer will use it as just another tool to learn things.
